Food Security and Nutrition Indicators
Measures to constrain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Zambia are likely to have huge negative impacts on Zambia’s economy and people’s livelihoods, food security and nutrition. Policy makers and other stakeholders require data and analytical assessments to make evidence based decisions. To that effect IAPRI’s food security and nutrition thematic team will collect monthly data on four indicators to help track the impacts of COVID -19 on food security and nutrition in the country.
Indicator 1: Household hunger measured by household hunger scale (HHS)
Indicator 2: Household food access measured by household dietary diversity index
Indicator 3: Women nutrition status measured by minimum dietary diversity for women
Indicator 4: Child dietary consumption measured by minimum acceptable diet (MAD) of children
